Louis Farrakhan is a religious leader who helps people follow the Nation of Islam and works to make the world a better place. Louis Farrakhan was born in 1933 in New York City and raised in Boston. As a young man, he was a successful musician, using the stage name Calypso Gene. He was appointed National Representative of the Nation of Islam by Elijah Muhammad and adopted the name Louis X.
When Elijah Muhammad passed away, Warith Deen Mohammed took over the Nation of Islam and made several changes. Louis Farrakhan left the group and started the Nation of Islam again. He organized the Million Man March, a gathering of men in Washington D.C. to renew their commitments to their families and communities.
Farrakhan has been accused of racism, antisemitism, and calling Judaism a “gutter religion.” He has also praised Adolf Hitler as a “very great man.” Despite these controversial statements, Farrakhan has been honored with the title of ‘Person of the Year’ by Black Entertainment Television (BET). He has spoken out against racism and sexism and has also been involved in music and has performed violin concerts.
Despite his ill health, Farrakhan is still a leader of the Nation of Islam. It is unknown who will lead the group after he passes away. He has been banned from Facebook in 2019 for being an extremist. He has also praised President Donald Trump and has been accused of being involved in the assassination of Malcolm X, which he has denied.
